Some of our favorite handbag designers are dishing up their gourmet secrets in the American Fashion Cookbook . The hardcover compendium was created by style writing veteran Lisa Marsh in conjunction with the Council of Fashion Designers of America. Martha Stewart even gave it her stamp of approval in the foreword! It's chock full of designer recipes and creative illustrations based on the talents of each featured visionary. Amongst the tasty treats inside is Tory Burch's gazpacho and Dere

Julie and Julia

Did you know that this cute little movie is all controversial and crap? Apparently some foodie bloggers don’t care for Julie Powell, the woman who blogged and cooked her way through Julia Child’s cookbook. Defamer calls them “prissy,” and I believe I agree. I mean, the worst possible outcome of this movie is that people will be inspired to try cooking gourmet meals at home. HOW DARE THEY. Everyone gets pissed when someone wants to join their little party.I’m currently doing some writing about th

Everday Grilling and Planking

July 27, 2009 by Gourmet Meals · Leave a Comment

Every once in a while I come across a cookbook that reminds me how little I know. After decades of grilling burgers and kebabs I was finally gaining confidence, but losing a bit of my enthusiasm. Then I received a review copy of Ted Reader's Napoleon's Everyday Gourmet Plank Grilling (Key Porter, 2009) and see my gas Q in a whole new light. This book isn't for people in a hurry or with a group of hungry toddlers. However, if you're looking for an infusion of techniques and unusual recip

Sam Stern’s Get Cooking

July 6, 2009 by Gourmet Meals · Leave a Comment

Sam Stern is a teenage chef from the United Kingdom. Get Cooking is his third cookbook. He writes as a teen as opposed to an uptight classicly trained chef, but the cookbook contains some interesting recipes like homemade crackers, homemade cream cheese alongside traditionals such as tomato soup and mac n' cheese. This might seem a contraction, but I know that in my experience with my young tween, she doesn't shy away from hard or unusual. In fact, she likes to experiment and try to inve

User Ratings and Reviews

5 Stars Gourmet Grill
I originally found this book at Half Price Books. If you love herbs, vinegars, marinades that are relativly easy, you will love this book. I pick a recipe for every Saturday Night to enjoy. The instructions are almost fool proof because working with the flame of the grill can be challenging.

5 Stars Great
Just what i needed still a charcoal man but wanted to know how to grill on gas since i got a gas grill for my birthday

4 Stars Now you are cooking
This is an excellent grill book. It gives you new ideas on how to grill better. Well illustrated and it is written by someone that enjoys cooking on the grill. This is a keeper

3 Stars Delicious recipes
However, many are too fancy or require ingredients that I don’t have in my “meat and potatoes” kitchen.

5 Stars Makes Grilling Even More Fun
I love this cookbook and have given copies to friends and family. I purchased this new edition because my old one fell apart from use.
